Pottery and Ceramics

Pottery and porcelain are different. Pottery is opaque; you can't see through it. Porcelain is translucent and is also colder to the touch than pottery. Pottery is softer and easier to break and will stain more easily because it is porous. Porcelain is thinner, lighter, and more durable. From Majolica to Country Stoneware, one can find an endless amount of information on the history of pottery.
