Effanbee's great success story was the "Patsy" doll introduced in 1928. The death of Hugo Baum in 1940 and the subsequent war years, brought the decline of success to Effanbee. Since that time, the company has exchanged hands several times, at one time with Stanley Wahlberg as President and Irene Wahlberg as designer. In 2002, the Robert Tonner Doll Company acquired Effanbee. Tonner was already a well known and talented designer. It is expected that his creativity will enhance Effanbee's entire line. The dolls offered here are of the time that the Wahlberg's were associated with the company.
