Bavaria, Germany, was long the center of that countrys' pottery industry. In the 1800's, many firms operated in and around the area. Chinaware vases and table accessories were decorated with transfer prints as well as by hand by artists who sometimes signed their work. Markings may include "Bavaria" with the logos of some of the various companies which were located there.

Bavarian Hair Receiver
This Bavarian porcelain hair receiver is hand painted and signed with a printed mark. It has beautiful multi colored leaves that surround the base and a lovely white rose on the lid. It is trimmed in gold and artist signed. The approximate age is circa 1900. The approximate retail value is $200+. It measures 4 1/4 in. in diameter and is 2 3/4 in. in height. There is a little wear to the gold rim which does not detract from the piece and can be expected on a porcelain piece of this age.

Bavarian Powder Box
This Bavarian powder box is hand painted and signed with a printed mark. It has beautiful multi colored leaves that surround the base and a lovely white rose on the lid. It is trimmed in gold and artist signed. It dates circa 1900. There is some wear to the gilt which is common in a piece of this age. There is minor crazing and a hairline fracture only on the outside which is difficult to detect. It is 4 1/4 in. in diameter and 3 in. in height. It is truly a wonderful antique piece.

Bavarian Mustard Jar
This beautiful condiment or mustard jar from Bavaria has a lid and handle It is 5 in. in height and 4 in. in diameter. There is a spot for a spoon in the lid. There is very detailed floral handpainting on the body of the jar. On the bottom is what appears to be a Z followed with an 8, RCI Bavaria and #16 in gold. There is a minor flaw, not a chip, just under the lid on the under rim of the jar. It appears to be a manufacturing flaw of just a small curved indenture in the porcelain.

Bavarian Guilded Temple Jar
This exquisite floral guilded vase was made by Franz Neukirchner of Bavaria. It is designed with an oriental flair and features a collar base, bulbous formed body, and a domed temple lid. The vibrant colors provide a wonderful contrast in royal blue, cream and gold. Estimated age is c1960. The jar is a total of 12 in. in height and is 6 1/2 in. in diameter at the largest point. The bottom has a colorful mark noting Bavaria, Germany with the numbers 1439/2.
